The January is a good time to conclude the past years. According to the rating of the "Wine Enthusiast Magazine" analysed 132 Portuguese wines which were tested and duly recognised in 2016-2017. Find out more here.
As you see, two of these wines (highlighted in yellow) are from my collection: it comes to Adega Mãe's Dory series. The Reserva white collected 92 and the red 88 points respectively. New delivery of these wines will soon become available.
Adega Mãe is top of the range in wineries, a temple built for the love of wine. It is meticulous and demanding when the time comes to produce and market the wine, as well as open and approachable when the time comes to share it. The vineyards have an area of 40 ha at Quinta da Archeira estate in Ventosa and are located in the area surrounding the winery. Slight hillside vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils and a climate influenced by the Atlantic. Its production capacity is approx. 1.5 million litres of wine per year. It is, therefore, able to produce a full variety of wines, especially the single grape varieties as Touriga Nacional, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot and Viognier.
